Mama & Me on the Farm
A gentle, sensory-rich morning designed for the youngest farmers and their grown-ups. Little ones open the barn, help care for the animals, and dig into a hands-on seasonal activity that mirrors the real work happening on the farm that week — planting, harvesting, tending, or gathering — then explore at their own pace and gather for story time under the old oak tree. It's the kind of grounded, open-air play that builds confidence, curiosity, and a real connection to the land from the very start.

Ages 6–14
Harvest Makers Craft Club
A seasonal, hands-on barn class where older kids step into real farm rhythm. Each session, they meet the animals, take on an assigned barn chore, and create a heritage craft born from the land and the season we're living in. We close with Charlotte Mason narration, a reflection circle, and free-range farm play — building capability, stewardship, and a sense of belonging that runs deep.

Heart Rock Farm School
Jakubec Farms is a fourth-generation family farm in Damon, Texas. In 2023, we opened Heart Rock Farm School to offer a place where families can slow down, explore, and learn through real farm experiences.
Founded and led by Kara Jakubec, licensed professional counselor and educator with 15 years of experience, our offerings bring together real farm experiences and an extensive understanding of developmental needs — creating spaces that are deeply therapeutic in nature, helping children and families thrive with confidence, connection, and grounded belonging.
We are a community rooted in real connection, hands-on experiences, and the seasonal rhythms of the land.

Endless Imagination
Farm school is ran by such a sweet family! I am so grateful we came across Jakubec farms and their community. They create such a fun, safe, and grounding environment not only for the little ones but the parents as well. When you come to farm school there is no constantly telling the kids to stop that, don't do that it is a time for endless imagination and truly getting the feel of what farming life is like. I would recommend trying to attend at least one event because you will truly not regret it.

She Helped Him Find His Way
We've known Kara since she worked with our teenage son in high school. She helped him find his way in the world and become the man he is today. I highly recommend any program Kara and her family run! A Peaceful Reset to the Chaos in Life
We have been going to farm school now for almost a year, it by far is our favorite homeschool weekly activity! All the friends we have made have turned into family. I can't say enough wonderful things about Heart Rock Farm School. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and dedication goes into every aspect of the school. The curriculum is hands-on and engaging, giving students the opportunity to learn through real-world experiences—feeding animals, planting gardens, exploring the outdoors and learning all of the day to day things happening on the farm.
